Member Info: Love kawasaki''s, as far as I''m concerned, THE original sportsbike. Mean green racing machine, yeh. I''m posting pics and info of my bike as I get it repainted and tuned up for the 09 riding season. Just click on any photo to get a larger view or to read some info on it. The lastest pics were taken on Dec 1st. As you can see the bike is on it''s way to being totally taken apart. Please take the time to scroll thru this page as there are lots of pics showing the rebuilding and re-paint of my bike. Geez, it''s Dec 1st, what else is there to do. Up-date, January 18th 2009, well I got the call from Cycle Logic to inform me my parts are ready. I''ll have to wait till the end of the month to pick them up as I haven''t been working for the last month or so and I''m short of cash right now. Sorry for the delay, but the bike will get finished. UPDATE, FEB 20th-09, I have got the parts back from Cycle logic, woo hoo. They look frigging awesome. I"m now in the process of changing the front fork oil, replacing the valve cover gasket, ( took 2 1/2 weeks to get here from the States ). Also going to check the front fork springs. Going by the looks of the oil that came out they have never been changed, which they should have every 10.000kms, according the the service manual. Then it''s a matter of putting everything back together. This will include putting new connections on the turn signals as the were almost falling apart, balancing the carbs,( still have not found a four gauge vacuum set), then check tyre pressure, air pressure in the forks, Oh and put some gas in the tank, lol. K, more pics to follow over the weekend, 20th-23rd. Update, 27 Feb 09, well it''s almost done. Had the bike running today but it needs to have the carbs synchronized/balanced,and then it''s off to the races, woo hoo. I''ll upload some pics of the bike in a few days showing it in all it''s glory.April 27th update- Well as you can tell it took way longer to get the bike on the road. I had it running for a week then came out one morning to find a pool of gas under the bike. The fuel tap had let go and also the float valve O rings, needle and seats were so worn it allowed the gas to get into the engine and flood it. Needless to say I had to do an oil change with filter and replace the other parts. It is now back on the road and I''m just waiting for the new Mac Performance 4-1 full chrome exhaust to show up. I ordered it on April 17th from Florida off Ebay and when it arrives I''ll take pics of the bike and post them here. Then that will be that, the bike will be complete, Wow, what an undertaking it was. A word of advice to anyone thinking about restoring an older bike, DON''T, unless you have the patience of Jobe and some money to invest in the parts, if you can track them down that is, lol. Ok, thanks for reading this novel and off to the races I go. Ian Canning. Ok, shes done, fitted the Mac Performance exhaust and shes on the road. Hope you enjoyed the read and I''ll say BFN, thanks for stopping by, Ian Canning.
