Information: The Yamaha XT-500. This was Yamaha’s first venture into big-bore singles.
This one is an ’81, the last year the XT-500 was available in the USA. It needed a serious upgrading by then, the next year the XT-550 was introduced, this was a major improvement all the way around. Yet, I like this motorcycle, something about it’s prime- evil viscera that turns me on. It’s as real as real gets.
