New rider from the Ace Deuce. I have 3 70´s era Honda CB´s, ´71 500/4, ´76 500/T, ´76 550/4. The only streetable one is the two tone 550. Even that one keeps givin´ me shit. Fortunately none of it is powerplant related, all electrical crap and brake trouble, stuff like that. The 550 was literally pieced together with parts sourced from at least 5 different bikes, so some shit´s bound to go wrong. The last one is that ´71 500/4 that we dragged back to my crib. Keep checkin´ back, I´m changing things on the new 550 all the time, as you can see from the photos so far.. The previous owner will never recognize it. He rode it in its´ previous incarnation as a stock 550 before he messed it up and sold it. My shit now!
July ´06 Update: Started looking at the 550 for what it is, a decent runner but a mutt with now something like 7 bikes´ parts used here & there. It´s no classic. This is a rat custom with hints of cafe here & there. I loathe stock bikes, especially CB models. So now it´s more like a rat racer. New pics of what I did to it in the next month. |

Info: My CB550 ex-cafe racer. Bought it from Rob Lloyd, he used to own that yellow ´77 550 you can find on this site. He builds cool CBs, ´specially 550´s. Rob is a class guy, and it shows since the bike was always a little weird since I got it, & he looked it over to try and sort it out. Didn''t get everything quite ironed out, the bike''s never run right. Now it runs alright though, the best it ever has

Info: July ''06, finally starting work on this while I ride the 550. My brother actually decided he likes this scoot and now we''re gonna rip the bitch out the crypt and start it going again. Twins are inherently cooler than fours, this bike should be hot shit when we get it going.

Info: Dead Project Bike. Shorty pipes gone in a trade for the 550. I ripped them carbs out, tank thrown out, rear fender scalped for the Twin. Gonna rip the engine out and fuck with the frame. The rest is basura homes. I got it for free though
