Information: This is not my bike, merely my uncles friends bike. I was going to buy it, but the guy didnt wasnna sell it, and then after riding my brothers RM 250, the KX just wasnt up too par, plus, I already have a way better bike ( my 03 YZ 450). when comparing the 04 KX 500 to my 03 YZ 420, i noticed many faults in the kawasaki. The disc brakes are way smaller on the kawi than on my YZ, The swing arn isnt cast-welded (my YZ`s is), and the bike looked like it was made in the mid 90`s, b/c of the seat, fenders, etc. Basically, this is a decent bike, but it didnt make sense to me to sell my YZ and pony up and extra $800 to get this KX 500, when I already have a better bike. And When compared to my brothers 03 RM 250, it was very clear to me. The RM would just kill the KX off the line, hands down. The RM and the YZ you can go places because of ALOT of tracable horse power, not sit around all day and spin the rear tire.
