Information: I should have listened. Won the bid on ebay for 660, and hired a man and van for £100 to pick up this morning. Travelled from Islington to Maidenhead, the van driver was a decent guy new quite a bit about bikes and spotted shit I didn’t. When I got there I looked over the bike and I could spot cosmetic damage on every panel, with the scratched up fairing hanging from loose screws and rust on nearly every metal part excluding the frame. I got down to business and started looking over the bike following an MOT test list on my phone. I told her it wouldn’t pass MOT as the rusty and shitty chain, sprockets, loose faded panels with hardly any screws, dim headlight and hanging indicators. Sean the van driver looked at the tax and noticed it runs out in two days and the logbook was registered to a man in Cheshire, he never told me till later. I asked her to start it, she couldn’t as the battery was dead after she said she warmed it up this morning, so jumped it using her car. Got it started and the smoke was bluish, which I do not know is a good or bad thing, couldn’t get it in first but when I did, stalled it, so told her to forget it until we work out a price. I told her the advertisement was not informative, with a hint of secrets and lies she was not saying and saying. I told her I’ll give her 450 for it and she snapped with a side-to-side headshake and crossed arms, nagging me about how she paid 980 for it. I told her it is not how much she bought it for but how much its worth. And told her 500 is my final offer, whilst she tried to convince her self to lower the price to 650, 600, then 580. I told her there is no deal as the advertisement was misleading and her means of sale was dodgy and bodgy, whilst Sean repeatedly told me to get in the van and not to waste my money. He told her the thing is not worth 400 and not to sell it to me, and the prices parts and problems will be endless. After I got in the van he told me the fishy things he noticed and the clocked mileage with lack of papers for age, and advised me to leave. So I did. Ended up spending 100 on the van to travel out for no reason, just because of ignorance and haste. I just realised if I am going to have that many problems selling on an RS I’m not buying one, so are know looking for a 400.
A Fucking Shed.
