Info: 1978 wast the first year that Yamaha made the step up to a four cylinder. The stock bike was the fastest production bike made for two years, until Suzuki became king in this area two years later. It was nicknamed the XS11 because not only was it an 1100, but it was the first stock bike to break into the 11 sec. quarter mile. My bike is outfitted with the factory touring package...
