Information: As you know, I was one of the lucky ones who took the chance to get a new Gamma from my dealer. Thanks to Guenter, who did not try to keep me away from this model, because he knew I''m a touring driver who likes to enjoy landscape during the ride. But this is not easy to do on a 500 Gamma. I drove too slowly with the bike and the exhaust systems had to be cleaned after 3 years and 50.000 kilometers. And after a large revision (60.000 km/1996 from 1992 I preferred th DR 750, or better: my girlfriend preferred it;-)) it ran absolutely faboulus again. In the late 80s there was many time for me to spend on holidays, so I went across the south of europe for at least three times per year (long, long ago). Right from the beginning on in 1988 I achieved to adapt a Givi luggage system, which was unfornately not available for the 500 Gamma. You may think it was risky, but the frame is stabile enough, even for two persons and their necessary things! I never had the slighest problem with the Gamma on holidays - ok, apart from the consumption of course. I think today I know nearly every gas station in south europe:-) My great mistake was to sell the bike when I bought my house in need of money. The bike had more than 80.000 kilometers, when I gave it away.
