Purchased: Aug 2006
Info: UPDATE: I''ll be riding this bike 5,000km in 10 days from Brisbane - Townsville - Normanton - Mt Isa - Longreach - Mitchell - Brisbane in November / December 2007. Come have a look at my new photos after the trip.
I just rode this little beauty from Brisbane to Adelaide to Melbourne to Sydney and back to Brisbane. 5,500km of hard freeway riding, some dirt roads, my camping gear strapped to the p

1996 Kawasaki KLR 250

Purchased: May 2005
Sold: Aug 2006
Info: This is my current toy - another little 250 to cruise around on.
It´s been performing really well. I´m having a ball taking my bike, tent & some food out into the bush to bash around on as many dirt roads as I can find with it. The bike has held up well to some seriously rough and boggy roads so far.
While the 8L fuel tank is a bit limiting (esp here in Australia where towns can be far apa

1985 Honda XR 250

Purchased: May 1997
Sold: Sep 1998
Info: This was a really cheap and nasty unreliable bike that gave me MANY hours of riding pleasure. It was difficult to get started in winter (even in our warm climate), but once warm would kick over quite easily. It loved to kick back hard. At only 5´6" tall, I relied on the suspension to touch the ground.
This was the first bike I´d ever ridden. It went everywhere - freeways, bushbashing. I d

1993 Kawasaki GPX 250 / Ninja 250

Purchased: Sep 1998
Sold: Jan 2000
Info: This was far more reliable than my first bike, and electric start. It was a nice bike to ride, but I found that the sports style didn´t suit me as much as the upright trail style does. And I was limited in where I could go.
With my lack of height I could touch the ground easily on it. It was a good comfortable bike for pillion passengers with a rack on the back to hold onto and a raised pillio

2000 Yamaha Virago 250
Photos: 5
Purchased: Jun 2005
Sold: Nov 2005
Info: This bike was nice. It did have issues travelling for extended distances at more than 80kph due to the gear ratios, but great learner bike.
However, my wife decided that it is much more fun hanging onto the back of my bike than riding her own. So she´s sold it. It´s a pity, but I´m happy to have her as pillion.

2007 Norton 952 Commando

Info: I saw a pic of the new Nortons. I checked out the website and saw the 2007 961/SS on there. It''s not listed here but the 952 is close enough. How sexy are they!

2007 Kawasaki KLR 650

Info: I reckon this would be the bestest bike to tour the dirt roads and isolated areas of Australia. When I''m finished with the CBF250 it will be a close call between the sexy Norton or the possible adventures on a KLR650 with the return of the big fuel tank.
