Information: This was my first bike: A 1986 Yamaha DT50MX which was nicknamed DORIS! It was awful. It was in desperate need of a re-bore, it needed the forks rebuuilding, as the seals hadgone, and it had NO oil in them whatsoever, half the suspension travel was taken up under its own weight, then most of the rest when you sat on it. it bottommed out constantly up the track... if you could get it started!. It was slow too: with a tail wind, slightly downhill, and with me lying flat on the tank with the throttle wound right open, it could just nudge 35mph. now that is slow! one day i decided to paint the tank and sidepanels with black hammerite, i got a million runs in it, and loads of brush marks, i covered the seat in gaffa tape too, cos it was so badly torn and faded. so it had to go, still, having said all that it taught me to ride so i cant really complain!
THE MIGHTY DORIS LIVES ON SOMEWHERE!!!!!!!
email me if you think you have her!
