Member Info: Okay...both bikes are done and sittin'' pretty. For those of you who are curious about how they ride, we''ll start with my 2007 Yamaha R1. To this day I still think that Yamaha makes the most beautiful liter bike out of the big 4 companies. Look at her, she''s just gorgeous. Now, about how she rides. She''s fast but not as fast as other bikes. Low end and mid range are mediocre, she''s hard to control on the street and very uncomfortable at times. Suspension is too tight I guess. She handles well, but not as agile as I would like. However, shifting is flawless, with no jerking or stalling motion. It''s clean and smooth. The stock pipes sounded great but the Yoshimura TRS system makes this thing sound like a space ship which is just sick! My R1 is equipped with slip on Yoshimura TRS polished pipes, a full power commander and a K&N air filter. It''s got all the other goodies like frame sliders and a smoke windscreen, you know, the whole nine. After all was said and done I added about 6 more horse to her. She rides a little faster and smoother. But she looks amazing. This is more of a track bike than anything. Kinda hard to ride, no hazard lights, gear indicator and it''s got a plank for a seat. But she looks good. I would think about performance vs. looks before you think about buying one. Now, onto the 2008 Suzuki GSX-R1000. First and foremost, it''s got an incredible color scheme on her. The silver and white colors are sick. Not as pretty as the R1, but she''s still nice. Now, onto performance. Let''s just say that Suzuki didn''t win the bike of the year 6 out of the last 7 years for nothing. She''s flawless in performance, perfect balance, low seat height, awesome breaks and wicked fast. Too fast almost. But in the midst of all this she''s easy to control and a beast on the streets. Very agile, almost like you''re riding a 600cc. But she''s smoother, faster, more exciting. This bike has it all, a gear indicator, hazard lights, flush mount blinkers, dual pipes. I replaced the stock pipes with Yoshimura stainless steel TRC pipes. It sounds beefier. Not much more in performance. Just looks. Stock, this bike obliterated my suuped up R1. Low end and midrange are just too strong. Unless you''re on a Busa or ZX14, there is nothing on the road that will beat this bike. I am simply amazed with this thing. The best bike I ever owned. Hit me up if you have any questions. And thanks for peepin'' my page. Ride safe. God bless.
