Information: This is my all time favorite bike, I´ve been many places in the US and Mexico on this critter. It´s been very reliable, but is currently down due to spinning a rod bearing. As you can see from the pics it was nasty, but it did NOT lockup, it was knocking like hell but it brought me home. Current millage is over 120,000. (The speedo pic is once over) Those of you who know BMW´s would wonder why it ever spun the rod, well the previous owner appearntly rebuilt the motor, (at least 3 times based on the ghost marks on the jug bolts) why we don´t know, and did a VERY poor job of grinding the rods.

It lives again! It´s back on the road! Life is so good!

It will be down again soon, it was backed into in a parking lot and suffered major damage to the fairing, also during the motor rebuild some dummy (me) forgot to install the new rear main seal he bought and it´s leaking. Mileage now nearing 128,000, also speedo broke so I´m keeping up the millage with a permanent mounted GPS unit.
UPDATE: 29 DEC 2003
Down again, burned clutch and install of rear main seal, should be up in about a week. Mileage now about 135,000
