Member Info: First bike: 1970 Kawasaki 350 Avenger A7 (owned 1970-71). In 1971, I rode this bike from New Hampshire to Florida in 3 days. I had extra foam wrapped around the grips and pegs--but it still vibrated like crazy! At 70mph, the front wheel oscillated back and forth a good 1-2"...but I didn''t know any better! I had a lot of mechanical and electrical problems with it, so I moved up to my next bike. Second bike: 1972 Honda CB750K1 (owned 1972-1974). Had it custom painted and it looked great. Unfortunately, someone else liked it too. On Jan 2, 1974, it was stolen from inside my garage. I knew the first thing that had to go was the very paint job that caught their eye. I rode this bike from Florida to New Hampshire in April 1972. Later that summer, I rode off to college on it, crossing from NH to Oregon in 6 days. This was a great bike! Comfortable, fast, and reliable. Third bike: 1982 Honda V45 Sabre (owned 1992-present). Due to finances, had to wait quite a while to get another bike. I''d always loved this bike when it first came out, and in 1992 found this one used and in great shape. I''ve tried to keep it that way. I love the V-4 engine! Smooth, quick, and really fun to ride. I''ve ridden this bike from Ohio to NH and back, Illinois to New York, and now mostly local day trips in SW Pennsylvania (we''ve got amazing roads here!). My son''s bike: 2003 Kawasaki Ninja 250 (owned 2005-present). This is my 20 year old son''s bike (his first), but I''m the actual "owner." This may be the perfect starter bike, but I''ll confess that I take it out for rides too--just because it''s so much fun to ride! It''s not powerful, but it handles great.
