Information: Brought about ten years ago in deepest, darkest Wales. Spent 3 solid months getting it roadworthy for the 100th Isle of Man TT celebrations and had it acceptable within hours of the ferry leaving. Forks lost all their oil after 3 days and have since been rebuilt with stainless stanchions and progressive springs. Everything else fettled or replaced except the guts of the engine/gearbox. Last year took it over the Pyrenees and Alps to the Stella Alpina rally, camping gear and all. Metzler tyres coped with everything from baking sun to wet slush on those high mountain passes. Wanted for nothing but a primary chain tensioner to cut down on backlash through drive chain when trying to put the power on/off smoothly on the hairpin turns. Oh, and a supercharger above about 2000ft when you''re changing gear like a bastard to try to keep up with torquey twins. Fuel and ignition taken back to standard and always starts on the button. Fuel tap replaced with simple on/off device because every time I''ve broken down, it was a Kawasaki fuel tap and even using a new servicing kit''s never cured the problem. What else, Scottoiler and old style Nonfango panniers. Really comfortable on long journeys and a pleasure to ride.
