Hello, I would like to introduce myself so here we go!
Finally Iīve found the bike I was looking for! After a few years on different motorbikes (from my father and by hiring one) a finally bought my first bike on friday 13th of May 2005!!!
But no worries, I bought it from the first owner, itīs a real native first sold Dutchie Yamaha TRX with 28.000km (then) and itīs a 1999 registered bike.
I was in search for a TRX for 3 weeks before I hit upon this one. Before that, Iīve seen 2 bikes in Belgium (in BAD condition) and I was planning to see 4 TRXes in Germany on the saturday after buying this one.
2005
I did spend 12 hours of cleaning en brushing to make it look like a new one. Also I needed some fresh oil, coolant, airfilter and tyres, so that was all done.
I have planned a testrun on a dynojet, to get the most out of my bike in standard trim, exept for the exhaust (BSM VAMPIRE) with DB-eaters. This is also needed in Germany. Because they are really alert on too much sound, and then you can leave the bike behind, which Iīm not intent to do so ofcourse.
Well, the testrun didnīt look good. But with some adjustments, K&N airfilter, carburator changes and my dB-eater out of my exhausts, it runīs damn good now.
My fuel consumption is normally not under 1 ltr : 21 kmīs with a record of 1 ltr : 27 km!!! Iīve just mounted some wheel rims, red in front and zilver in the back. Also a hugger and crashpads, so that my bike is in the condition that I wanted it in.
2006
Iīve driven about 10.000km from May this year, and I''m counting. This is the year of visiting circuits, Zolder Belgium, Assen Holland, Nürburgring Germany and to have great feedback on braking, Iīve mounted stainless steel instead of the rubber ones!
This is a huge difference, but so much better with so minor costs. Iīve been to Zolder en Assen and the TRX is fantastic!!! Ok, Iīm behind on the straights (no power ..d*mn) but with every brake attemp, Iīll get closer and finally can overtake them in de corners hehehe.
2007
Stainless steel exhaust mounts, other (smaller) indicators (with smoke glass), duo-cover black and PazzoRacing clutch and brake levers and Braking Wave discs yeah!
September 10th, now Full WP suspension with progressive springs in front and the Fusion PA in the rear (see pictures). September 14th, Stage3 Dynojet and separate K&N filters, I''ve now got 83 rearwheel bhp. I''ve gained 4,45 bhp going from Stage1 to Stage3.
October 17th, Probolt Black paddockstand bobbins and Preload Adjusters on front. November 20th, RairoTec CNC aluminium gear and braking set! December, Coerce ChainSprocket and Front Fork Stabiliser! March 10th 2008, Bi-Xenon is on the TRX and what a difference! June 2008, a custom made exhaust system with custom made Akrapovic cans and it looks FAB! Also installed a LED rear taillight. October 20th, finally the PVM 7 Y-spoke wheels with the black 90 degrees ventiles are bolted on. Looks FAB!
Well, to everyone who is likely to buy a TRX, DO IT! You, will like every minute on it!! Itīs different, great steering, economic with fuel and the sound ...WOW!
Last year my first child was born, a daughter, so the TRX is this year more on the stand then on the road. But that will change along the way... but it''s gonna last a bit longer due to the birth of my first son in February of 2008!
