Information: I tested the new Sport Classic GT 1000 in Bologna, on the Ducati presentation. The ride was short, almost 90km, but it was fun and enlightening. The new Sport Classic GT 1000 is one of three Modern Classics presented this year by Ducati, and it´s the only one with straight handlebars. That means that it´s the most versatile of the three, and it will appeal to a much wider audience. The engine is the well-known L-Twin, but with the addition of a wet, albeit still hard to pull, clutch. This bike is for me the ultimate wheelie bike in the Ducati range. Loads of torque, tall habdlebars and away we go...
Smooth engine, good handling, spoked wheels, tube-type tires, and finally a small turning radius for U-Turns in narrow alleys. Good in all riding aspects, the only negative point is its bland looks.
A Ducati perfect for everyday use? It souns almost too good to be true. But it is!
