Information: The S 1000 R is derived from the Superbike S 1000 RR. In the beginning of 2014, I thought "Poor BMW, had the bad luck to present their streetfighter at the same year as the KTM Beast -the 1290 Super Duke R. How can it compare?". Boy, was I wrong! So, so, so wrong. Riding the S 1000 R I was simply blown away. And as it happened I rode the KTM at the same time. In no way is the S 1000 R inferior to the KTM! They both are INCREDIBLE motorcycles, with each having distinct persontal strong points enough to make it quite difficult to choose between the two. The S 1000 R. Maniac wheelies, 4cylinder inline characteristics at their best, hardcore stopping power, Superbike handling, and a superb electronics arsenal. It feels planted even in bad tarmac, with suspension and tires doing a FANTASTIC job. An amazing hooligan tool for the connoisseur!
