Information: Colour Change: The bike has recently undergone a complete colour change from Silver to Metallic Purple. For the best photos please visit either http://www.zx8r.com or ttp://www.polisingshack.com Details: This bike was purchased new in March 99 and was run almost standard for a year. About July 01 the bike was taken into SRS (Ray Stringers - well renowned for Kawasaki tuning in both BSB and WSB) for a mega race tune-up. It is now running in excess of 155+bhp at the rear wheel and it can be geared to run 185mph top-end. The bike consists of the following modifications. Engine: Stroked to 793cc courtesy of the ZXR750M or L crankshaft, Carillo rods and Kawasaki PTFP coated single ringed race kit pistons (cyclinder head is machine and re-profiled to suit the pistons). It also runs high lift race cams complimented by new racing valves & race valve springs. Compression is up from the standard 10.5:1 to 14.2:1, the motor has been blue printed top & bottom along with fully Gas flowed head + full porting work. A thicker head gasket is required for the longer stroke which now gives 793 lovely ccs (however because I run the carillo rods I do not need 2 head gaskets). A new racing clutch, which comprises of beefier springs, have been added to withstand the extra horses produced. Induction: Fuel is delivered via a set of Keihin 41mm Flatside racing carbs (these are ex Glen Richards Hawk items from the works Kawasaki 7R) jetted using 153 and 151 main jets set-up to suit the kit, along with an Kawasaki ex-works new carbon kevlar QB Carbon airbox + kevlar intakes. Ignition: Timing is advanced via a kit race igniter box which will redline at 14,200rpm and give a steep steep power curve. Exhaust: The exhaust system is a full titanium Akrapovic high level Evolution system (ex Chris Walker) with carbon ex-works brackets. Electronics: Techtronics electronics race dash capable of 45mins of datalogging. Mounted alongside the racedash is the Datatool digital gear indicator and a digital SPA speedo (also capable of specific datalogging). Also recently fitted is a digital DynoTune Air/Fuel Ratio mixture display unit. Additional LEDs have also been added to the custom one-off dash system. Other: Various other parts include MRA double bubble tinted screen, Scotts steering damper, Goodridge Kevlar hoses, polishing and various carbon parts, Suspension: Front - Upgraded Ktech forks with Ohlin internals Rear - Technoflex rear gas shock fully adjustable Carbon Fibre: Full carbon Harris front fender, carbon rear hugger & carbon chainguard Braking: Front - Full AP Racing Discs and 6 pot Calipers. Rear - Brembo 2 pot Goldline caliper and one-off PBR rear wavy disc with aluminium billet wheel mounting (this enables the wheel to be taken out without all the washer, spacers or caliper dropping out) Additonally full radial Brembo master cyclinders and levers have been added to both sides of the handlebars. Other Stuff: Dynamite undertray, polished custom indicators, . Gearing: Front sprocket reduced to 14 (standard 15) teeth to improve acceleration and rear increased to 45 (standard 43) , running Afam lightweight chain and sprocket kit. Summary: Ballistic - Performance increase is absolutely amazing in comparison to a standard 7R and will outdrag virtually most new machines. THis bike has more power than the new ZX10R !!. Torque is up (80-85 lbs ft) giving massive pull above 8000rpm and rapidly reaches maximum rpm @ 14,200. Costs: Total cost to date including purchase of bike is 23,000.00+
