2008 is proving to be a year of change, I’ve sold my car and bikes and development of the new bikepics site is well underway.
I have now been working part time on a whole new bikepics. The new site will not look very different but the programming and database that run the site are getting a complete overhaul. Think of it as an engine rebuild on a 2 stroke bike – You still have the same bike, it just better to ride after the rebuild.
The decline of the US Dollar and the general slowdown of the US economy have hit me hard. As a result my income has almost halved compared to 12 months ago. I could have got a full time job but decided to cut costs. I have sold my car and 3 bikes and will just have 1 bike for the time being. This will allow me to keep working on bikepics .
I have also decided to develop a second bike website where people can post photos of girls on bikes. It has always been my wish to keep bikepics.com as a site for everyone of all ages and genders. I do however understand that there are a lot of men out there that don’t mind a perve so that’s why I will set up this new site. It will be based on the basic bikepics design but kept fairly simple

More Options for Member Accounts
Members can now rename their account or for what ever reason delete it :(
Some have asked to have their account removed because they have found too much personal information from their BikePics profile in search engines and that is understandable.
I have setup another option which keeps your membername and country and deletes all other personal information so hopefully that will be a better option. You can do this by clicking the "Remove Optional Info from my BikePics Account" link

What happened in the end of 07
Well i got side tracked from working on bikepics. Advertising was down so to help pay the bills i done some Computer / IT work for my clients.
2008 is now here and i have new energy and am back working on the site. Stay tuned for more news

Whats happening
Just an update to let regular users of the site know what I have been upto. I have had a few weeks break and went down to Phillip Island to watch the Moto GP. I am also off to Sydney soon for a friends wedding but i think i might take the car this time!
I am still working on the rebuild of the web site, i hope to have this finished in about 1 months time. I will post some info when i have made some more progres

1 Million Photos
Today BikePics quietly passed the 1 million photo mark. This has been a very big personal milestone as reaching this many photos seems like an un-imaginational feat a few years ago.
Reaching this many photos has given me new energy to continue building the site and expanding it with some of the areas I have talked about for several years.

New Photo Uploading pages online
Over the past week I have been working on a new look and simpler layout for the pages that let members add new photos of their bikes to the site.
The code is now online and appears to be working well. If you are having any problems with adding photos then use the contact form at http://www.bikepics.com/help/contact.asp to let me know. You will need cookies enabled and java scrip running.
The new code now only lets members add photos of bikes. I have removed the personal photos option for now but will eventually add a whole new area to the site and a better way to add non bike photos.

Changes to Photo page and Photo Info
The pages that show the photos have had some changes made to the options below the photo and more will come in the next few weeks. The current changes allow the owner of the photo to delete it or edit/add information about the photo.
The pages that let members edit the information have also been added to the site so you can easily update the info at any stage.
