Racing tyres for road use, as you can see, are NOT recommended - they are designed to perform in a narrow temperature band and under specific conditions. They simply don't reach safe operating temperatures with normal road use - no tyre warmers and too many long straights plus they don't get pushed hard enough in corners to really warm up. Came off at around 140km/h on a coastal mountain road corner, may have hit a rock 1st (front wheel dent), but the cold tyres would not have helped ether. Lost consciousness for a few minutes, nothing broken, saved by the leathers. Apparently I went flying onto the public beach below, landing on sand!
