This was my third bike. My dad bought this bike in the summer of 2006. It was stock and ran ok, but it was in kind of bad shape cosmetically. We make a lot of modifications and now its a bobber. Here's what it used to look like: http://www.bikez.com/motorcycles/yamaha_xs_650_us_custom_1980.php We got new handlebars, removed the front fender, removed the rear fender, replaced the rear taillight assembly with a side-mounted taillight and license plate mount, painted the tank orange (used to be dark gray), removed the gauge cluster along with the tach and speedo cables, got new side cases, new reverse megaphone mufflers, flipped the headlight mounts to lower the headlight, removed the center stand, shaved the seat, painted the cylinders black, replaced the rear shocks with homemade aluminum struts (hard tail) and had a local bike shop shorten the kick stand. It was really fun working on this bike with my dad, and when I graduated college in 2008 he gave it to me! I love this bike.
